Just when you think the Sulphur girls basketball program can’t get any better – think again.

Newcomer Korie Allensworth, who moved in from Empire over the summer, will join the program this winter.

But before she got started, Allensworth made her plans for next fall official, as she signed her letter of intent to play at Louisiana Tech last Friday.

The 5-foot-10 senior was one of four to sign with the Lady Techsters, a member of Conference USA that also includes North Texas, Southern Mississippi, UTEP, Middle Tennessee, Charlotte, UAB and more.

Allensworth averaged 22.6 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game as a junior at Empire. She has scored 1,633 career points, averaging more than 20 points a game during her high school career.
