A Wet, Wild And Weird Night
It was a wet, wild and weird night at Agee Field on Friday, as Sulphur beat Cache 14-3 in a weather-shortened game.
After a sloppy first half filled with rain, the teams entered halftime and went under a weather delay. Ultimately, school representatives from Cache and Sulphur agreed to suspend the game Friday night, due to continued lightning, weather and the distance between both communities.
Both school’s representatives chose to not resume the game on Saturday, with the added travel that would’ve had to happen the following day playing a role. According to OSSAA rules, the game is deemed complete with the final score resulting as is.
“There were a bunch of places calling the games off,” said Sulphur head coach Jim Dixon. “The weather wasn’t letting up and we were just glad we got to halftime.”
