Boys Golf Team Battles To 8th After Meet’s First Day

The Sulphur boys golf team battled their way to a solid finish after the first day of the Class 3A State Tournament at Tulsa Country Club on Monday.

The Lady Bulldog track team soared to new heights last Saturday, capturing a runner-up title at the state meet in Owasso.The team pictured above with their coaches are shown above after a stellar performance. In addition to their runner-up title, the girls were designated as academic state champions in the sport.

Lady Bulldog pole vaulter, Faith Howe, won her second consecutive vaulting title at last Saturday’s state meet in Owasso. Howe, a junior, soared to a school record 12-2 to easily win the event by more than two feet over a trio of girls who cleared 10 feet.

Sulphur’s 4x200 relay team, above, broke school record at last Saturday’s state track meet and won 2nd with a time of 1:46.74. The team is composed of Macenzie Ruth, Jaidyn Ballandingham, Makella Mobly and Payton James, from left.
