Dogs Prep For Scrimmage vs. Lindsay Thursday

Pads were popping and whistles were blowing last week, as the Dogs returned to the practice field, for what is sure to be a unique and another successful season.

Lady Bulldogs Swamp Byng In Home Opener, 9-1

The Sulphur softball team started the 2020 season off just the way they wanted on Monday afternoon, as the Lady Dogs moved to 1-0 with a 9-1 win over Byng at home.

The Dogs broke out of the pin on a hot Monday afternoon to launch their first practice of the new season. On top, longtime head coach Jim Dixon, far left, watches as the team goes through drills. Above, in inset, team members work through other drills as they get ready for their first scrimmage next week. It will be at home on Aug. 20 vs. Lindsay in a 6:00 p.m. start at Agee Field. Sulphur will open the season on Friday, Aug. 28 in a tough encounter with old foe Tuttle on the Tigers’ home turf. Game-time is 7:00 p.m.

Two local students earned their belts in Taekwondo style.
