Sulphur girls golf won the regional tournament in Kingfisher.

The Lady Bulldogs scored 351, beating out Perkins-Tryon’s 355 and Holland Hall’s 361.

“We played well as a group,” Coach Linn Marshall said. “I am extremely proud of how the girls have worked throughout the season to get to this point.”

Junior Keagan Scott led the team, placing sixth and shooting 82.

Right behind her was senior Paisley Eason with 87 and seventh place.

Freshman Jordyn Johnston shot 90 and placed 10th.

Senior Landry Couch shot 92, and junior Emrie Williams shot 101.

The Sulphur team will now head to Shawnee Golf and Country Club on Monday for the 4A State Tournament.

“We have a chance to do something special. Something only one other girls golf team in Sulphur history has been able to do,” Marshall said. “If we stay focused and keep improving this week we can bring home some hardware. That hasn’t been done here in girls golf since 1998. I am proud of our seniors for plugging along and working hard to make this a special season.”

Bulldogs Head To Regional The Sulphur Bulldogs wrapped up their regular golf season placing sixth at the Marlow Invitational.

Freshman Kaden Cleveland shot 77 to place ninth.

Senior Jett Terry shot 79, senior Trey Anderson shot 85, freshman Wyatt Clark shot 92 and senior Alec Ivy shot 93.

The Durant Tournament was canceled due to rain.

Sulphur will head to the 4A Regional Tournament today at Kingfisher Country Club.

“It’s tough, bumping up a class has brought in a lot bigger schools and much tougher competition from top to bottom,” Coach Grant Bates said. “We completed the regular season ranked 20th – the top 12 total teams at regionals move on to the state tournament. It will take our best effort, but our guys are excited for the opportunity to compete against some of the best golfers in the state.”
