The Murray County Commissioner’s met for the regular weekly meeting Monday with a light agenda.
Members welcomed several members of various OHCE Clubs who were on hand to present the board with several treats. The home extension groups are celebrating Nation OHCE Week and thanked the board for their support of the OSU and Murray County Extension Office.
Debbie Sharp, OSU Extension and Ryan Hicks, OSU Ag Educator, accompanied the ladies at the meeting. Sharp told the board the state has approximately 3,200 OHCE members and Murray County has between 45-50 members. The OHCE clubs were formed in 1932. Representing the oldest club in the county, Oaklawn, was Donna Perhus and members of the Harmony Club present included Mary Mueller, Susie Edgar and Brenda McCaskill.
In county business, the board approved the appointment of Ben Warren to the Murray County Development Authority to fill an open seat in District 1. The seat was recently vacated by the resignation of long-time member Wes Harden.
Members also approved a resolution for declaration of surplus and disposing of equipment for the Murray County Health Department.
All three commissioners were present at the meeting.
