Sulphur Athletic Director Praises Seniors, Anxious For Start Of 2025-26 Seasons

It was a banner year for Sulphur High School athletics, not only in football where the Bulldogs won the silver ball, but in just about every sport throughout the season.

This week, Sulphur Athletic Director Corey Cole broke down the numbers, and they pointed to arguably the best year ever for SHS sports.

“The 2024-2025 was a truly remarkable year throughout the SulphurAthletic Program, the 2025 seniors were an a amazing group of athletes who were great leaders, hard workers, and dedicated to being the best they could be,” said Cole. “This class will go down as one of the most accomplished in school history. We are very proud of all their accomplishments and can’t wait to see what they accomplish and are ready to see what the 2025-2026 class does this next year.”

Cole said one of the most impressive stats from last season was a record number of senior athletes signing letters of commitment to play at the college level, a total of 13.

Adding to that stat were six players who made All State, one OCA All State coach, four individual state champions, three individual state runner-up winners, two state championship teams, one state runner-up team, and a host of state qualifiers in various sports.
