Commerce Dept. Sets Public Hearing For Monday, July 7

The Oklahoma Department of Commerce (ODOC) will hold a public hearing for citizens and other interested parties to learn about and comment on Oklahoma’s $39.4 million Community Block Disaster Recovery action plan.

The funds are provided to ODOC from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

An in-person as well as a virtual hearing for Sulphur and Murray County residents will be held Monday, July 7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Crossway Church, located at 2108 W. Broadway Ave., in Sulphur.

The 2023-2024 CDBG-DR Action Plan is the state’s plan for using $39,405,000.00 for disaster recovery after the severe storms in 2023 and 2024.

Counties included in the storms are as follows: (2023) Cleveland, McClain, Pottawatomie; (2024) Carter, Craig, Hughes, Johnston, Kay, Lincoln, Love, McClain, Murray, Nowata, Okfuskee, Okmulgee, Osage, Ottawa, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Washington and Washita.

Citizens and interested parties are encouraged to attend and offer comments at the public hearing.
