Two men died last week in separate area incidents, one involving a single-vehicle crash and the other in a Lake Texoma drowning, authorities said.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 72-year-old Bobby J. Coley, of Whitesboro, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash on Friday, July 18, and the body of a Sherman, Texas man, 25-year-old JulioAguilar IV, was recovered from Lake Texoma on Saturday, July 21.
Troopers said Coley died when a Buick Envision, driven by Christi L. Burham, 55, Wilburton, ran off the road and rolled, about10:01 p.m. on S.H. 7E, about two miles west of Wapanucka.
According to the patrol, Burham was airlifted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was treated and released.
Seatbelts were equipped and in use by both occupants of the vehicle.
The Lake Texoma drowning occurred about nine miles south of Kingston in Marshall County, according to the patrol.
The victim reportedly jumped from a moving boat on July 19, went underwater and never resurfaced, the patrol report said. His body was recovered two days later, on July 21, about 7:22 a.m. by the patrol’s Marine Enforcement Division.
