This recent panoramic photo of the restored Flower Park shows the recovery of this CNRA area that was extensively damaged in the April 2024 tornado. Throughout the park, several thousand trees were damaged or destroyed, particularly in the western part of the Platt Historic District. Park staff and many volunteers worked diligently to reopen the entire park after the storm and fl ooding last year. Park staff reported that 95% of the park was reopened by May 30, 2024, including Flower Park.
