The Lady Bulldogs shut out Ardmore and North Rock Creek, but lost to Davis by the slimmest of margins in a busy week of softball.

The local girls started off the slate with a 12-0 win over Ardmore last Thursday, but suffered a one-point loss to Davis in the second game, 2-1. They ended the series with a 4-0 blanking of North Rock Creek.

In the win over Ardmore, the Lady Dogs’Paige Collins singled to begin a six-run inning. Her hit led to two runs, followed by singles from Sydnie Rolin, and Zoli May, each scoring one run. Destrie Muck doubled to score two runs to close out the inning.

Sulphur scored six more runs in the fourth inning with Collins and Rolin each scoring two runs on singles with another two runs coming after an Ardmore error and a sixth run after Rolin scored after tagging up.

Cheyenne Ruth threw a no-hitter in the win.

Collins and Rolin led the team at the plate with two hits each while Rolin and Muck each drove in three runs.

Sulphur held on through the majority of four innings against Davis, but the Lady Wolves’ Kynlee Son singled, scoring a run to lead her team to a 2-1 win last Thursday evening.

Both pitchers were strong with Sulphur striking out five to and Davis two.

Sulphur got on the board in the top of fourth on an error, but in the bottom of the inning Davis took the lead after the Lady Bulldogs committed an error, followed by Son’s single to center field, scoring two.

Kensley Rochelle started the game on the mound for Sulphur, giving up four hits and two runs. She struck out five and walked one.

At the plate, the Lady Bulldogs were led by Landri Oxley, Rolin, May and Savannah Patrick, each with one hit.

Davis was led by Son,Addison Romo, Kassie Busey and Emerson Henley with one hit each.

Last Friday, the Lady Bulldogs got back in the win column with a 4-0 blanking of North Rock Creek.

Sulphur picked up two runs in the first inning on an Cougar error as Patrick grounded into a double play resulting in two runs.

Rochelle led Sulphur form the mound, holding the Cougars to just two hits over six innings. She struck out eight with no walks.

A host of Lady Bulldogs collected one hit each. They included Rochelle, Oxley, Collins, Rolin, Muck, Jordyn Johnston and Patrick. Rochelle and Johnston each drove in a run for Sulphur.

In their latest game on Monday, the Lady Bulldogs again drubbed Ardmore, this time 20-0 as the team scored nine runs on three hits in the top of the second inning.

Cheyenne Ruth picked up the win for Sulphur with a no-hitter through three innings.

Oxley led the girls at the plate with a 2-for-3 performance.

Lady Dogs To Compete In Asher Tournament Sulphur was set to hostAda on Tuesday, then will head to Asher for a three-day tournament Aug. 28-30. The Lady Dogs will open against Wewoka at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Other first-round games include Stratford-Allen, Konawa- Varnum, and Wetumka-Asher.

The quarterfinals will start at 1:00 p.m. Friday, followed by semis and finals on Saturday.
