A carriage sporting two American Flags leads a solder and a riderless horse during last Tuesday’s Veteran’s Day in Sulphur. The riderless horse symbolizes the fallen soldier’s final journey. The horse is adorned with a decorative saddle and a pair of boots facing backward in the stirrups to signify that the leader will never ride again and is taking one last look at his troops. There were many other floats in the parade including two marching bands, Sulphur and Davis. The float winners in this year’s parade were: 1st--First Freewill Baptist Church; 2nd--Sulphur 4-H Club; and 3rd-Sulphur Cub Scouts.
