Two Sulphur players were named this week for their outstanding contributions in the Bulldog’s 77-28 quarterfinal playoff win over Holland Hall last Friday, a win that extended the team’s record to 12-0.
The two are senior, Maddax Mobly, and sophomore, Carter Cole.
Mobly, a 188-pound running back and strong safety, rushed for 156 yards in the game including touchdown runs of 45, 1, 5, and 24 yards. He also caught a 74-yard touchdown pass and intercepted a pass early in the game. He had many tackles defensively as well.
Cole rushed the ball for 91 yards, and made several big plays throughout the evening, adding to his big-play effort all season. He also has had a stellar play on special teams and defense.
The Player of the Week is sponsored by Crossway First Baptist Church and the Sulphur Times-Democrat.
