Sulphur 7th In Tough Duncan Wrestling Meet

Dog’s Noah Heitland Wins 120-Pound Match

Sulphur’s Noah Heitland brought home the gold in the pre-Christmas Southern Oklahoma Wrestling Tournament in Duncan, beating all challengers in an 18-team field.

Heitland won in the 120-pound weight division in a technical fall over Montra-Cruz of Cache, 192, in the finals.

He was among five Bulldogs who placed in the tough two-day tournament held December 19-20.

Other Sulphur placers included Angel Rios, Tristan Barnes, Jonah Cole and Landy DeArman.

Rios, competing in the 113-pound divison, won sixth place where he battled Goodman of Shawnee for fifth place, but lost in a narrow bout, 8-,6, and settling for sixth.

Barnes was Sulphur’s best finisher behind Heitland, winning third in the 126-pound division. He beat Guthrie’s Smith, 16-6, in the third place bout.

Jonah Cole, wrestling in the 132-pound division, captured sixth place in the meet. He lost to Casarez, ofAmarillo, TX Caprock, 7-3, in bout for fifth place.

Sulphur’s final placer was Landy DeArman in the 138-pound division. He won in a technical fall over Ramos, of Catossa, 17-0.
