Sulphur High School’s wrestling homecoming ceremonies will be held Thursday, Jan. 15 at the intermediate school gym around 7:00 p.m. The ceremonies will take place between the junior high and high school matches.
The senior candidates for this year’s event are Tatum Barnes, Kenleigh Johnson and Jolee Thomas.
The junior, sophomore, and freshmen princesses include Peyden Young, Scout Runyan, and Saige Pitmon, respectively.
Following is brief synopsis of the senior candidates, princesses, and their escorts:
Senior Candidates and Escorts
Tatum Barnes is the daughter of Shawn and Hollie Barnes. Tatum attends Lake Church and is a member of FCA. She is a member of the National Honor Society of High School Scholars.
Her escort is Jonah Cole. He is the son of Preston and Liz Cole. Jonah is a member of FCA and the varsity wrestling team. His honors include: three-time state qualifier in wrestling, onetime state qualifier in powerlifting, Superintendent’s Honor Roll, Oklahoma Honor Society, National Honor Society, Honor Graduate, and Oklahoma Academic Scholar.
Kenleigh Johnson is the daughter of Boone and Lauren Johnson. Kenleigh is member of Crossway Church, Crossway Leadership Team, FCA Leadership Team, Sulphur varsity cheerleader, Sulphur varsity track team, 2023 and 2024 state qualifier in shot put and 2023 state qualifier in discus, and has served three years as class president, and two years as Key Club president.
Kenleigh is a member of the Superintendent’s Honor Roll, the National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, and is an Honor Graduate.
Her escort is Grady Hardoin. He is the son of Jeremy and Janelle Hardoin.
Grady is a member of Crossway First Baptist Church.
His activities, awards and accomplishments are: varsity wrestling, varsity football, varsity track, and powerlifting.
Grady’s honors include: Football Second Team All District Runningback, powerlifting state qualifier, three-time track and field state qualifier, track and field 2025 state runner-up in 300 meter hurdles, Youth Leadership Murray County graduate, and FCA Leadership Team.
Jolee Thomas is the daughter of Toby and Emily Thomas.
Jolee attends First United Methodist Church in Ardmore and is a member of FCA, National Honor Society, and a graduate of the Ardmore Youth Leadership Program.
Jolee’s honors include: OSSAA wrestling state placer and finalist, two-time wrestling west regional champion, and Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
Her escort is Brody Wallace. He is the son of Jonie McGee and Benny and Stevie Wallace.
Brody attends Crossway Church and is a member of FCA.
His honors include: Oklahoma Honor Society, National Honor Society, Superintendent’s Honor Roll, Honor Graduate, and is a member of the 2024, Class 3A state runner-up football team.
Princesses and Escorts
The Junior Princess is Peyden Young. She is the daughter of Casey and Mendy Young.
Peyden is a member of Sulphur First Free Will Baptist Church, Key Club, Varsity Cheer, FCA Leadership Team, member of On Pointe Dance Center, and a member of Youth Leadership Murray County Class 9. She is on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll and Oklahoma Honor Society.
Her escort is Landy DeArman. He is the son of Joe and Lanae DeArman.
He is a member of Crossway Baptist Church, the Youth Leadership Team at Crossway, varsity wrestling, varsity cross country, and varsity track.
His honors include: Honors Program at SHS, National Honor Society, Oklahoma Honor Society, three-time state qualifier in cross country, two-time dual state wrestling qualifier, threetime individual state qualifier, two-time state qualifier in pole vaulting, and 5th place at state in pole vaulting junior year.
The Sophomore Princess is Scout Runyan. She is the daughter of Lory and Bear Runyan. Scout attends Crossway Church.
Her escort is Triston Barnes. He is the son of Shawn and Hollie Barnes. His activities, awards and accomplishments include: FCA, wrestling, cross country, and track. He is a member of the National Honors Society.
The Freshman Princess is Saige Pitmon. She is the daughter of Joe and LeAnn Loftis, and Stoney and Alisha Pitmon. Saige attends Crossway Church. Her activities, accomplishments and awards include: BPA and Key Club. She is on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll.
Her escort is Noah Heitland. He is the son of Emile and Melissa Heitland.
Noah attends First Freewill Baptist Church. His honors include: wrestling two-time state qualifier and cross country twotime state qualifier.
Flower Girl and Crown Bearer
The flower girl is Kinsley Bonham. She is the daughter of Kiefer andAlex Bonham. Kinsley is in Pre-K and enjoys coloring and playing Barbies.
When she grows up she wants to be a mom.
The crown bearer is Ryatt Phillips. He is the son of Pen and Logan Phillips.
Ryatt is in first grade and enjoys wrestling, baseball, football, playing with friends, attending church at Crossway, and being the best brother to Griffin and Baby Dake.
When he grows up he wants to be a fireman.
