Sulphur junior high and high school wrestling teams each won their respective district dual tournaments last week, and will now prep for the state tournaments later in February.
In high school action, the Dogs won four consecutive matches to earn their ticket to the state meet. They beat Madill, 73-3, Pauls Valley, 56-23, Plainview, 66-9, and Bridge Creek, 48-24.
The team will compete in the state meet on February 14 at Tulsa Union High School.
It was Sulphur’s sixth time to qualify for the dual state meet, and their third time in the past four years.
The junior high Dogs also won four consecutive matches, beating Madill, Pauls Valley, Plainview, and Bridge Creek.
