Diamond Crew Off To Strong Start At 4-0

The Sulphur Bulldogs are off to a strong start to the 2026 baseball season, opening the year with a perfect 4-0 record, including two district victories over John Marshall and a pair of wins on the road in Texas late last week.

Under first-year coach, Denton Miller, Sulphur traveled to Sanger, Texas, last Thursday and came away with a thrilling, 10-9 victory over Callisburg in a backand- forth contest. Traber Sartors got the start on the mound for the Bulldogs, with Brady Foster and Aiden Graves providing relief to help secure the win.

The Bulldogs returned to action Friday and picked up another victory, defeating Pottsboro, Texas, 5-2 in dramatic fashion. Sulphur sealed the win on a walkoff home run by Michael Morris, sending the Bulldogs to 4-0 on the season.

Drake Wood started on the mound for Sulphur and turned in a strong performance, pitching four innings while allowing just two hits and one earned run. Wood also struck out eight batters during his outing. Jayden McClure came on in relief and earned the save.

Sulphur’s offense also had several standout performances during the two games.

Carter Cole went 3-for-6 at the plate, recording a single, double and triple while driving in two runs.

Strong Start

Jax Jackson finished 2-for-5 and blasted a solo home run.

Hayden Raymo had a big stretch at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and three RBIs.

Michael Morris added to his game-winning heroics by going 2-for-3 with a three-run home run.

With four wins to open the season and momentum building, the Bulldogs look to continue their strong play as district competition begins to take shape.
