4-H Members Win District Awards
Murray County 4-H members were among 214 4-H members from across the Southeast District (23 counties) competing in the annual district public speaking contest held in McAlester. Members competing were front row L to R: Aubree Edgar and Kiliana Johnson team 1st place, Juliana Johnson 1st place, Aubree Lee 3rd place, Alice Wakefield, 1st, Kole DeArman 2nd place, Matthew Mayo participated in extemporaneous and not pictured is Jace Donaho placing 3rd and Dannah Buhrmester who placed 4th. The 4-H Public Speaking project is designed to give youth a sense of ownership, to give a feeling of achievement, strengthen confidence and offer life skills by being able to express themselves. Murray County 4-H is open to all youth ages 9 to 19 (or in 2nd grade turning 9 that school year). To enroll in 4-H contact the Murray County OSU Extension Office.
