In addition to the team placing second, Johnston placed fifth in the medalist hunt with an 18-hole score of 83, and Scott was 10th. Gabriella Gross, of Heritage Hall, narrowly beat out Nora Riggs, Plainview, for the medalist title. Gross shot 75 with Riggs, a freshman, ending with a 78. Two other Plainview golf team members finished third and fourth. They included Gracie Bryant (79), and Sophie Groves (81). On Friday, Sulphur competed in the Ardmore Spring Shootout, winning first in a seven- team field. The Lady Bulldogs fired a team total of 349, 16 strokes ahead of second place winner, Turner (365). Durant (378), MacArthur (402), Kingston (415), Ardmore (418), and McAlester (426) rounded out the final five teams. Turner’s Hadley Hill won the medalist honors with a 75, just barely beating out Sulphur’s Jordyn Johnston for the medalist winner. Johnston was just one shot off the pace with a 76. Also in the top 10 in individual scoring were Lady Bulldog’s Keagan Scott, fifth place (81), and Emrie Williams, eighth place (90).
