Sulphur Board Of Education members met for the regular monthly meeting Monday night.
Superintendent Matt Holder presented the financial status of the district telling members the schools were in good financial standing for this time of the year. Holder stated the district should finish the year strong with over a $2 million carry-over at the close of the fiscal year on June 30. Holder reported more than $9 million total in all funds including the general fund, child nutrition, building fund, bond fund, sinking fund and gifts fund.
Holder told members that summer school began today (Monday) and campus maintenance repairs and projects are underway including new lighting for the football field. Holder reported the new building project is getting close and could be open by the start of the new year.
