Sulphur Historic Downtown -- Then & Now
These two photos show more than 100 years of history of Sulphur’s downtown at the intersection of Muskogee Avenue and West 2nd Street. The upper photo was taken “about
1913” according to a booklet published in 1995 celebrating the city’s Centennial. The lower photo shows the historic downtown business district this spring, with the Hassen Building (center) and the old bank building (right) still standing after the April, 2024 tornado.
