Two people were killed in a two-vehicle collision in Murray County last week, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 10:44 a.m. on May 26 at the intersection of U.S. 77 and River Bottom Road. Troopers said the collision remains under investigation.
Authorities identified the deceased driver of one of the vehicles as Christopher Michael Williams, 42, of Elmore City. A passenger in the same vehicle, Heather Johle, 34, of Davis, also died as a result of the crash.
The driver of the second vehicle, Jessica J. Womack, 39, of Wynnewood, was not injured, according to the report. No passengers were in her vehicle.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol indicated that all occupants involved in the collision were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Trooper Tanner Hamilton of OHP Troop F is leading the investigation. Additional details regarding the cause of the crash have not yet been released.
The information contained in the preliminary report was gathered during the early stages of the investigation and remains subject to change as investigators continue their work.
