The Artists of the Arbuckles Gallery was heavily damaged by the 2024 tornado in the Historic District.After major repairs, plans are now announced for a Grand Re-opening andAnnualArt Show on Saturday, August 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
According to Skip Thompson, new vice president of the artists’ club, the art show will continue to be open on those same hours on Friday and Saturday for the two weeks of the show following the August 1 opening.
Check-in for art entries will be held on Saturday, July 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday, July 26 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The adult show is open to all artists 18 years old and over. A student art show will be held later. The Art Show entry fees are: $20 per piece for members, and $25 for non-members. Maximum of five entries per artist.
This year’s show has no categories for entries; there are just two divisions — Amateur and Advanced Artist.
This judged show features nearly all media: painting, water colors, sculpture, table art, etc. (No photography since a photo show will be planned later.)
Prize money is offered for Best of Show; Peoples Choice; and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place in Advanced and Amateur artist divisions. Six Honorable Mention awards also can be earned. An Awards Reception will he held on Sunday, August 26 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the gallery.
The gallery is located at 330 West Muskogee Avenue near the historical society museum.
