These three Murray County 4-H members, above, were among a host of local 4-Hers who won high honors at the 105th Oklahoma State 4-H Roundup held July 22-24 in Stillwater.
Kiliana Johnson, in photo at left, was recently selected as a new State 4-H Ambassador serving a 5-year term. Only 10 4-H members from across Oklahoma were selected for this honor. Selection is based on application and an interview. Johnson’s award was presented during an award’s ceremony held at OSU by Extension Director Damona Doye, right.
Alice Wakefield, daughter of Matt and Beth Wakefield, of Davis, center photo, was recently recognized as one of the top three 4-H members in Oklahoma competing in the 4-H breads’ project. Wakefield has presented workshops, demonstrations and various activities related to breads across Murray County and the state.
Matthew Mayo, son of Julie and Neil Mayo, of Sulphur, right photo, was named the state project winner in the 4-H Healthy Living project. This award is a $1,500 scholarship. Mayo has organized his own project club and has presented educational presentations across the county as well as the state.
