The Murray County Antique Tractor and Implement Show will celebrate its 33rd annual event Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18-19, at the organization’s show grounds, north of Sulphur.
The fall festival will be held seven miles north of Sulphur on S.H. 7, then three-fourths of a mile east on Tractor Road. Gates will open at 7:30 a.m. each day.
The annual event celebrates Oklahoma’s agricultural heritage with antique tractors and farm implements, working demonstrations, tractor games, family activities, vendors and plenty of opportunities to see equipment from a bygone era in action.
Friday’s activities will begin with student activities and demonstrations from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Throughout the day, visitors can watch demonstrations featuring a brace and bit, water pumps, duck racing, a sawmill, quilting and rope making.
Other Friday activities will include hayrides, a tractor toy exhibit, sandbox, cornhole, photo opportunities, arts and crafts vendors and food vendors.
Friday evening will feature a consignment auction at 5:00 p.m., followed by a tractor pull at 7:00 p.m.
Saturday’s activities will begin at 8:00 a.m. and continue through 7:00 p.m., with exhibits and demonstrations throughout the day. Tractor games will provide additional entertainment, while the popular Parade of Power is scheduled for noon.
The Saturday schedule also includes kiddie tractor pulls featuring tuci and gas engines, giving younger visitors an opportunity to take part in the festivities.
An exhibitor dinner is planned for 5:00 p.m., followed by the tractor rodeo at 7:00 p.m. to conclude the day’s activities.
Admission is $5 per person, with children under 16 and adults over 60 admitted free. There is also a $5 registration fee forATVs and golf carts.
Organizers invite area residents and visitors to attend the two-day celebration and enjoy antique machinery, demonstrations, entertainment and family activities while helping preserve the agricultural history and traditions of the area.
