Peggy Adams

Peggy, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, educator, and author, passed away peacefully after a brief illness. She was the cherished wife of Eddie Adams for over 50 years, during which she was his best friend, mentor, counselor, boss, guide, and sweetheart. Peggy would have followed Eddie to the ends of the earth. Her unwavering support kept him on the right path throughout their life together. After a whirlwind six-week engagement, she and Eddie married, embarking on a lifelong journey together.

Peggy was the devoted mother of four children. Her son Joel Adams and wife Janah Adams, her son Jonathan Adams, who survive her, and Rose Emma Adams and Nathan Michael Adams who predeceased her. Despite the heartbreak of losing two children, she demonstrated resilience and unwavering love for her family.

Peggy’s family extended beyond her immediate household. She embraced Eddie’s family as her own, including her mother-in-law, Ruth Noran; brothers-in-law Monty and Riley; and sisters-in-law Judie and the late Shannon. Her grandchildren—Lynnea Rose, Emma, Aria, Anna, Keaton, and Idgy were the light of her life, and she was affectionately known to them as “G.”

Awoman of remarkable determination, Peggy earned a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Her passion for early childhood education led her to touch the lives of hundreds of children, fulfilling her soul’s purpose to impact young minds and all who crossed her path.

She was raised by Elmer and Joyce Kief in Oklahoma City. Later in life, Peggy discovered she was adopted, a revelation that led her to find her biological mother, Mama Beth Traslavina. This discovery profoundly changed her life, and she joyfully embraced her newfound brothers, Rocky, Larry, and Keith, as well as a special niece, Amber, and Uncle Hutchie. She shared her life story with anyone willing to listen, exemplifying her openness and strength.

An accomplished writer, Peggy, authored 14 published books, with two available as audiobooks. She connected with MacKenzie cousins worldwide and cherished her friendship with her best friend forever, Lynn Mosley. Her talents extended to the arts, where she expressed herself as a gifted artist.

Her hero was Mother Teresa, whose example of touching countless lives resonated deeply with Peggy. She believed that life’s true value lay not in material possessions but in the love and connections we share and embodying a profound spiritual depth that guided her actions and relationships.

Peggy was born on September 12th, 1956, and departed this life on March 12th, 2025, at the age of 68.

Honoring Peggy’s wishes, a graveside memorial service will be held at the Buckhorn Cemetery, south of Sulphur, Oklahoma, in the near future.

Peggy’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
