After graduating from high school, Dan joined the United States Navy, proudly serving his beloved country. After being discharged from the Navy, he attended truck driving school, prior to moving to Oklahoma to find work. Dan spent 25 years in the trucking industry. Dan went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal psychology and was working on a master’s degree in clinical mental health, with plans of he and Candice working together.

Survivors include his wife, Candice; sister, Mellisa Austin; brother, Rodney Young; half-sister, Linda Vargis; stepdaughters, Rainey and Bailey; one step-granddaughter, A’Riyha; mother-in-law, Carol Dilbeck; along with two special cousins, David and Larry Young.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, at the Central Baptist Church, south of Sulphur. Reverend Eddie Dye will officiate the service.
