Ezra Evelen Poe
Ezra Evelen Poe passed away in Lexington on August, 2025, at the age of 74 years, 8 months, and 17 days. He was born December 21, 1950 in Wynnewood. In 1969, he graduated from Pauls Valley High School. He was a (bubble head) in the U.S. Navy, also known as a nuclear submarine operator. He earned his degree from East Central University.
As as lifelong musician, he played in the tuba and sang with the Singing Churchmen of Oklahoma. He also performed with the SASO Choir of Sulphur.
He is survived by his stepson, Marty Butler, of Sulphur; great niece, Kristie Manning; and great nephew, Ricky Manning, both of Pauls Valley; nephew, Mark Stevens, of Pond Creek; and half-brother, Billy Flesher, of Hollis.
He was preceded in death by his five siblings and his parents, Thelma Poe and Ezra Raymond Poe.
