Graveside services for Margaret Ann (Brooks) Beaver will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at the Drake Cemetery, south of Sulphur. Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr will officiate the service.

Margaret Ann was born July 29, 1947, in Dougherty, to the late Alfred Namon and Effie Bernice (Haney) Brooks. She died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, in Sulphur, at the age of 78. Margaret and the late Claude E. Beaver, Sr. were married on September 10, 1962, in Gainesville, TX. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2008.

Margaret grew up in Dougherty. After she and Claude married, they made their home in several places as he was promoted throughout the Army. Following his discharge, he and Margaret owned and operated B&W Home Construction (Beaver & Wife), in Diana, TX. Later, he began a career as a cross-country truck driver, being accompanied on the road by Margaret for many years. After retiring in 1998, they returned to Dougherty.

Margaret was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Known for her amazing cooking, she enjoyed hosting family dinners and get-to-gathers. Margaret possessed a talent for music. She, along with her father, brother and sister enjoyed playing and singing bluegrass music every chance she had. In her spare time, Margaret enjoyed garage selling and keeping up with family, friends, and events on Facebook.

Survivors include her four sons, James David Beaver,Anthony Keith Beaver, Claude Beaver, Jr., and Charles Ray Beaver; daughters-in-law, Marsha Beaver, Jo Lynn Beaver, Regina Ivy, and Reece Beaver; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gloria Brooks; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Brooks and Roberta Davis; and two brothers, Alfred Ray Brooks and Carl Lee Brooks.

Services are entrusted to HALE’S FUNERAL HOME, DAVIS.
