Lesley Jay Herring
He grew up in the Davis and Sulphur area, graduating from Davis High School in 1964. He married his high school sweetheart, Mary Pitman, on September 5, 1964.
Most knew him as the Rattlesnake man or the man who drilled piers in the old red, yellow, and black International truck. He worked hard and played harder. Les loved hunting and fishing and spending time with friends and family.
He passed away on October 3, 2025 after a long battle with COPD, surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include daughters, Wendy Forrester and husband, Paul, Roff, Julie Moore and husband, Marvin, Sulphur, Jamie Brown and husband, Claude, Hickory; granddaughter, Amanda Jones, and husband, Gerald, Kache Lewis, Kegan Lewis, Justin Landreth and wife, Emily, Tye Brown; great grandchildren, Tripp, Tuff, Bailyn, Breckin Lewis, Madilyn Jones, Evelyn Landreth, and Jemma and Judge Lewis.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; brother, Gene Herring; wife, Mary Pitman Herring; and grandson, Treyce Lewis.
