Judith Joy Stephens Tipton entered Jesus’ arms October 14, 2025 in Gainesville, TX. Born in 1945 in Carnegie, OK, Judith (Judee/Ju Ju) was the daughter of Orville (Bill) and Ruth Joy Stephens. She grew up in Mountain View, Oklahoma where she graduated high school then received her Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma State University and Master’s Degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. In 1967 she married Quinton Ray (Tipper) Tipton and a few years later they welcomed their daughter Mika Dawn.

After many years in Oklahoma where Judee had a career in teaching, the family moved near Green Forest,AR where they lived 17 years. There, Judee served on the state WMU board, started an Acteens chapter and sang at church, while working on the farm and being an active mom. In 2001, Judee and Quinton moved back to Oklahoma where they purchased a farm near Sulphur and joined Hickory Baptist Church.

Judee’s numerous talents and creativity allowed her to leave a legacy of touching lives in a personal way. Whether it be writing the words to her high school fight song or baking cookie bears for special occasions or penning children’s curriculum or singing at various events, Judee brought joy as she served others throughout the entirety of her life.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father and is survived by her husband, Quinton of the home; her daughter, Mika (Greg) Sumpter of Denton, TX; her siblings, B.R. (Sharon) and Randy (Linda) of Mountain View, OK. She was proud of and dearly loved her grandsons, Rhett and Luke; four nieces and two nephews, and many great and great-great nieces and nephews.
