June 15-1952 - October 7, 2025 Larry Curtis Burchett, 73, of Denison, TX, passed away on October 7, 2025. He was born on June 15, 1952 in Sulphur. Larry grew up in Sulphur and was a proud graduate of Sulphur High School, Class of 1970.

A gifted athlete, he excelled in football, baseball and basketball. He went on to play football and baseball at East Central University before transferring to the University of Oklahoma.

After college, Larry began working for the Santa Fe Railroad Company, helping build track routes throughout Oklahoma for a few years. He then began his long and successful career with Oklahoma Gas and Electric, where he worked for 25 years, starting in the maintenance department and eventually becoming a control room operator.

Even after retirement, Larry continued working in maintenance at various facilities, always dedicated and dependable. Larry was a man with a big heart, a strong work ethic, and a deep love for his family. He was known for his sense of humor, his storytelling, and his passion for restoring old Chevy pickups, playing golf, and cheering for OU football.

He spent the last 20 years of his life in Denison, TX with his wife, Lisa.

Larry is survived by his wife, Lisa Griffin Burchett; his daughter, Stephanie Anaya, and her husband Tony; his son, Lance Burchett and his wife, Danielle Burchett; and his grandson, River Burchett. He is also survived by his sister, Brenda Duck and her husband, Fred Duck, their children Curt and Karen, and several great nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

Larry will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and the love he had for those around him. His legacy lives on through his family and the countless memories he created.
