Bill grew up in Longview, TX. He was drafted into the United States Army, during the Vietnam War.

Bill moved to Davis in 1992. Being disabled from his time in the Army, he was forced into early retirement.

Survivors include his three children, Candace Leatherbury and Michelle Leatherbury, both of Longview, and William Loyd “Billy” Leatherbury, Jr., of Davis; two sisters, Janet Williams and Sherry Calliet; as well as five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services, with military honors, were held at 2:00 p.m., on Monday, Nov. 24, at Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Davis. Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr officiateed the service.
