Kathy married the love of her life, Eddie Jarman, on August 8, 1962, in Ardmore,.
Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who spent her life caring for her family and others. She retired after 30 years of employment with the State of Oklahoma. First working as a house parent for 2 years at the Pauls’ Valley State School, later transferring to The Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur where she served as a house parent and classroom assistant for the remaining 28 years of her career before retiring in 1996. After retirement, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved spending time with each of them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Eddie attended Sulphur First Assembly of God church for several years and later made The Oak Grove Church their church home.
Kathy moved to the Tulsa area in February 2023 to be near her son and son-in-law. She enjoyed her new friends at The Highlands at Owasso and became a regular at most activities, with her favorite being the weekly BINGO games, followed closely by Therapy Dog visits on Friday mornings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie, on August 11, 2013, after 51 years of marriage; and her parents, Clarence and Velma Brown; sister-in-law, Barbara Brown; and sons-in-law, Ben Vineyard and Jeff Townsend.
Kathy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherri (Vineyard) and Ricky Hamilton of Ravia; son, Theirl Jarman of Tulsa; grandchildren, Dustin and Kenna Smith of Ardmore, Kyle and Regina Smith of Davis, Brittni Smith of Norman; great-grandchildren, Bailen Smith of Davis, Alexander Smith of Ardmore, Kenlee Smith of Ardmore, and Averi Smith of Davis; brothers, Charlie Brown of Davis, Don and wife Evone Brown of Sulphur, and sister-in-law, Joanne Bosscawen of Round O, South Carolina. Kathy also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as many great nieces and nephews.
We will hold close the memories of this remarkable woman who touched our lives in ways words can hardly express. We love you, Mom. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, at the First Free Will Baptist Church, in Sulphur, with Pastors Dick Terry and Fred Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 17, at the funeral home.
