Rex Harland Keeton

Rex Harland Keeton was born July 19, 1937, in Meremac, OK, to the late Cody Rex and Dena (Caudle) Keeton. He passed from this life on Sunday, March 8, 2026, in Sulphur, at the age of 88 years. He and the former Ms. Doris Jean Hartsoe were married on December 5. 1959, in Tacoma, WA. To this union two children were born, Lori Denise Keeton and Martin Rex Keeton.
Rex grew up in the Meremac/ Pawnee area. After graduating from Pawnee High School, he joined the United States Army. Following an honorable discharge from the Army, Rex owned and operated a service station for several years.
Throughout their marriage, Rex and Doris made several moves between Oklahoma and Washington. Their final move back to Oklahoma was in 2009, settling in the Sulphur area.
Rex farmed and ranched most of his adult life. His years on the farm included raising dairy cattle and beef cattle, growing crops, and training racehorses. Rex enjoyed tending to his farms, going to horseraces, and spending time with his beloved wife, Doris. Together they worked hard to be good stewards of what God had blessed them with.
In addition to his parents, Rex was preceded in death by his children, Lori and Martin; as well as his two siblings, Jerry Keeton and Elaine Hallman.
Survivors include his loving wife, Doris; numerous Caudle and Keeton extended family members; as well as many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Crossway First Baptist Chapel, in Sulphur, with Pastor Bill Leveridge officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow at 3:00 p.m., at the IOOF Cemetery in Meremac.
