Roy grew up north of Davis, where he lived his entire life. He attended elementary school at Joy, prior to graduating from Davis High School, Class of 1957. After high school he attempted to continue his education at Murray State College prior to the U.S. Army requesting his service. With immense pride, Roy devoted two years of service to our great country.

Survivors include two sisters, Mary Jo Benke, of Ft Worth, TX, and Wava Scott, of Wynnewood; as well as several nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin “Ed” Bristol.

Graveside services were held 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Green Hill Cemetery, in Davis. Roy’s nephew, Ed Benke, will officiate the service.
