LaVerne lived to serve those around her. Her animals were spoiled rotten and so many were loved over the years from the dogs (Toto, Daisy, Mindy, Mitsy, and Princess) to the cats (Spice, Mantis, and Garfield). Most of all she served her family by building a home filled with love and kindness. Always quick to be ready to fill any need. She was most happy during Hollis birthday parties or the family Christmas gatherings. She loved dancing, music, and sharing it all with Carson, the love of her life.

In addition to her husband Carson Hollis, LaVerne was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Patterson and Norman Patterson; a sister, Mary Huston; and a son Gary Hollis on March 27, 2025.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Brian and wife Debbie Hollis, of Sulphur, son James Hollis, of Sulphur; two grandchildren, Connor Hollis of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Kasey Krause of Sulphur.

Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday April 20, 2026, at the Cornerstone Methodist Church in Sulphur
