Willie passed away May 9, 2026 at his home in Sulphur, surrounded by his family. Services are set at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21 at Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur.

Willie married Trecia Lee Hughes on October 31, 1994. Willie worked at numerous jobs, maintenance at the Cookie Factory in Marietta, hot tar roofer, and hay hauler.

Willie liked to prank people and laughed a lot. Willie was survived by three sons, Michael Hughes, Onto Hughes, and William Hughes. Willie had three daughters, Stephanie, Mellisa, and Moniza.

Willie had eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents, Willie and Ruth; sister, Clara; brothers, Bobby Lige, and Arthur Sr.

Willie is survived by wife, Trecia; six children, three sisters, Ruby, Dorothy, and Betty, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services are under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home, Sulphur.
