Louella Pearl Adlong

Louella Pearl Adlong was born on July 29, 1951, in Sulphur, to the late William Ray and Lucille (Carlile) Elrod. She died on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in Ardmore, at the age of 74.

Louella, better known by family and friends as “Lou,” grew up in Sulphur.

She spent many years working for the City of Davis in housekeeping at Turner Falls Park, as well as housekeeping at the Sulphur Veteran’s Center. Lou enjoyed restoring wood furniture, helping others, and being involved with her church family.

Survivors include one brother, Jimmy Elrod and wife Janice of Sulphur; six half-siblings, Melba Herrera and husband Jerry of Sulphur, Virginia Pettigrew and husband Bobby of Davis, Delbert Elrod of Nacogdoches, TX, Glen Elrod of Coyte, OK, Carl Elrod and Raymond Elrod, both of Cartwright, OK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Lou was preceded in death by her son, William “Kenny” Tanner, as well as siblings, Willie Mae Eddy, Leona Reynolds, Joseph Elrod, Willie Lewis Elrod, William Lee Elrod, and Rayford Elrod.

A private graveside service was held at the Oaklawn Cemetery, in Sulphur.

Services were placed in the care of HALE’S Funeral Home of Sulphur, OK.
