Edwin Dale Eugene Hamilton
Edwin was born and raised in Wynnewood, where he graduated from Wynnewood High School. While in high school, he was active in FFA and showed livestock, reflecting the strong agricultural roots and work ethic that stayed with him throughout his life. Edwin served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 to 1969. During his service in Vietnam, he earned the Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, the Air Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation Badge.
After returning home from Vietnam, Edwin worked in the oilfield. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at Lake Arbuckle.
Edwin is survived by his two sons and their families, Eric Hamilton and wife Heather, along with their four children, Jesse, Evan, Landon, and Ethan, and Todd Choate and wife Iraida, and their son Dylan; daughter, Kimberly and husband Randy Swanson; and grandchildren, Hunter and wife Kathryn Swanson, and Baylee Swanson; and his great-grandson, Liam Swanson. He is further survived by his younger brother, Johnny Hamilton and wife Becky Hamilton, and his younger sister, Peggy Nipper and husband Paul Nipper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Nathaniel Hamilton and Myrtle Mae Hamilton; his beloved granddaughter, Valley Isabelle Choate; his grandson, Logan Hamilton; his nephew, Phillip Brett Nipper; and his grandmother, Pearl Tennison.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., July 13 at DeArman Funeral Home in Wynnewood.
