Teddie Kent Higgins

Teddie graduated from Sulphur High School, class of 1959. He married his beloved wife, the former Ms. Elaine W. Wilson, on December 10, 1962, in Lewisville, Texas, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with joy and companionship.
Teddie had a zest for life that was evident in his many passions. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was fishing, swimming, or enjoying the thrill of an OU Sooner football game. His enthusiasm for the OKC Thunder basketball team was equally infectious. An avid jokester, Teddie delighted in teasing his grandchildren, filling their lives with laughter and fond memories.
A proud Navy veteran, Teddie demonstrated his commitment to service not only through is military career but also by volunteering to drive fellow veterans to their medical appointments. His dedication to helping others extended beyond his service, as he worked as a truck driver navigating the highways while providing for his family.
In his quieter moments, Teddie enjoyed relaxing with a good episode of Jeopardy, while he could showcase his knowledge and wit. Teddy will be remembered not only for his love of family and friends but also for his generous spirit and the joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
Survivors include two sons, Teddy Kent Higgins of Oklahoma City and James Michael Higgins of Sulphur; four grandchildren, Michael Higgins and wife McKenzie, Theodore Higgins, Ludie Higgins and J.J. Higgins; four great grandchildren; one sister, Kaye Simmons; as well as several nieces & nephews.
In addition to his parents, Teddie was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; and one brother, Hale DeWayne Higgins.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Dolberg Cemetery in Roff, with Pastor Dick Terry Officiating.
