She is survived by her son, James “Jimmy” Jones (Kellie); daughter-in-law, Pam Jones; grandchildren,Ashley Jones Rudd (Ryan), Josh and family, Jordan (Romeo), Hunter (Madelyn), and Brady Jones (Mary Morgan); great-grandchildren, Kailey and Kingston Rudd; niece but more like a sister, Bernadine DeArman; sister-in-law, Lou Jones; nephews, Mark “Bit” Jones, Mike “Bear” Jones (Karen); and many other family and friends.

Betty Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Jones; son, Ricky Jones; and her four sisters and two brothers; mother, Hettie Dickson; and father, Joe Dickson.

Betty Joy was a light in this world and never met a stranger. She loved to dance and was full of life. Betty was devoted to the Lord and at the church any chance she could get. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family and all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly ask that donations be made in memory of our loved one to Luminos Hospice of Chandler, in appreciation of the compassionate and outstanding comfort care they provided during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements will be held at DeArman Funeral Home in Sulphur, with visitation Saturday from 5-7:00 p.m.. Following on Monday at 4:00 p.m. will be graveside services at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Vance, AL.
