Ann Mayes

Ann Mayes

Services for Ann Mayes, 79, of Ada, were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, at Central Church of Christ with Mr. Thomas Thompson and Mr. Bill Nelson officiating. Burial followed at Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.

Ann passed away Monday, August 31, 2026, at her home.

She was born December 10, 1946, in Wichita Falls, TX, to J.D. and Lafleta Campbell.

On April 16, 1977, she married David Mayes. She earned her master’s degree and taught at Ada Junior High School until her retirement.

Ann had the most fun-loving, kind soul and was a true example of John 13:34-35: “Love one another.”

She was always serving others and often said that raising her children was the happiest time of her life. According to her kids—and many others—she was the best mom ever.

She loved her career as a teacher, and her students loved her. She was quoted saying, “The goal in the game of life is to develop your talents and skills and give them back to the world.”

Survivors include her husband, David, of the home; son, Ryan Mayes, of Norman; daughter, Mikella Mims and husband, Ryan, of Lipan, TX; brother, Joe Campbell and wife, Pam, of Argyle, TX; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
