Laura Lee Holman

Laura Lee Holman

Laura Holman, of Davis, was born on October 1, 1960, in Delaware, Ohio, to Jeanette (Reece) Freshwater and Paul David Freshwater. She passed away with her family by her side on October 17, 2026, in Norman, at the age of 66.

Laura married the love of her life, John Holman, on June 7, 1986, in Tulsa. Together, they spent the rest of their lives building a family and sharing a life filled with love, faith, and devotion.

Laura graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. Her early years included moves from Ohio to Mississippi, Tennessee, and eventually Arkansas. During her years at Springdale High School, she enjoyed playing clarinet in the band and participating in the flag corps.

Laura initially began college as an art major before changing her course of study to elementary education. Art remained an important part of her life, and creating art was her therapy. It provided her with comfort, expression, and a way to find peace throughout life’s seasons.

While attending the University of Arkansas, Laura accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. From that point forward, her faith became the foundation of her life. Jesus was her first love and greatest passion, and her relationship with Him guided the way she lived, loved, and cared for others.

Laura devoted her life to both education and motherhood. As an elementary educator, she had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young children. At home, she embraced the important work of raising her own children, offering them love, guidance, and a place to call home.

In 2004, Laura and John relocated their family to Sulphur. During this chapter of their lives, they opened their hearts and home to three young siblings in need of a family and adopted them. Their decision reflected Laura’s compassionate spirit and her deep love for children.

Laura will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her love for her family, her passion for art, and her dedication to nurturing and educating children. Above all, she leaves behind a legacy of love rooted in her relationship with Jesus Christ. The lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the faith she lived out will remain a lasting part of her memory.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Zephaniah Joseph; her father, Paul and mother Jeanette Freshwater.

She is survived by her husband; brother, Dave and his wife Shannon; her daughter, Hannah her husband Steven; son, Donnie and his wife Raegin; daughter, Chloe and husband Eric; daughter, Jennifer; son, Greg and his wife Blakely; grandsons, Isaac and Jack Little, Hardin Holman; and granddaughter, Autumn Fish..

Visitation was held Thursday, October 22, at DeArman Funeral Home in Sulphur.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, at Crossway Baptist Church in Sulphur. Burial followed at 5-Mile Cemetery (5 miles east of Ada).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Operation Christmas Child through Crossway Church in Sulphur, in honor of Laura’s memory.
