Christi Jean Hunter
Christi Jean Hunter

Born February 20, 1958, in Oklahoma City to Ralph and Mildred (Dobbs) Jacob, Christi grew up in Oklahoma City and Mustang. On December 20, 1973, she was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, beginning a lifelong devotion to her faith.
On January 15, 1977, Christi married Bob Hunter Jr., her husband of 49 years. Together, they settled in Prairie View in 1980, where they raised their five children and built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
Christi had a servant’s heart and a special calling as a midwife, helping bring many children into the world, including all of her own grandchildren. She was also a talented seamstress, lovingly creating dresses for her daughters throughout their childhoods, including formal gowns and wedding dresses. Her love of quilting and crafting brought countless handmade treasures into the lives of family and friends.
An exceptional cook, Christi brought her family together through food and tradition. Her Christmas ham roll-ups and unforgettable cheesecake will always hold a special place in their hearts.
Above all, Christi treasured her family. Whether welcoming new life, sewing a special dress, preparing a family meal, or simply spending time with those she loved, she gave generously of herself. Her faith, kindness, and love will remain a lasting legacy.
Christi was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Jacob, and her son-in-law, Jonathan “Wes” Foster.
She is survived by her father, Ralph Jacob; her devoted husband, Bob Hunter Jr.; and their five children, Sunny Eddy (Noah) of Pauls Valley, Ashley Paul (Caleb) of Lexington, Lacy Foster of Stratford, Jacob Hunter (Summer) of Stratford, and Taylor Hunter of Wichita, Kansas.
She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many beloved family members and friends.
Christi’s hands welcomed new life, stitched together cherished memories, and lovingly prepared meals that brought her family together. Though those hands are now at rest, the love they gave will be felt for generations to come.
