Sulphur Student Competes In Shooting Championship
Randon Thomasson, left, of Sulphur, competed the AIM World Youth Championship week during the ATA Grand in Sparta, Illinois. Randon represented the Oklahoma Dusters Team in sporting clays, skeet, and trap events held July 24-29th. The Oklahoma sub JR team finished 3rd overall in singles.

School’s New Gym Taking Shape
Sulphur High School’s new gymnasium is rapidly taking shape this week with the steel framework going up. In the background, the construction of district’s auditorium is also well underway. These two facilities and others including classrooms and a host of other additions are part of a $35 million bond project passed by Sulphur School District voters.

Holman Retiring As Extension Educator
John Holman, OSU Extension Ag Educator and county director celebrated his retirement after 11 years of service in Murray county. Holman was very involved with the county 4-H program as well as working with the state Blue Thumb water conservation and water monitoring program.

Earlene Blagg Chandler
Earlene Blagg Chandler, born on November 23, 1940, in Sulphur, to the late Earl and Mable (Van Orden) Blagg, departed this world on the evening of Friday, July 19, 2024, in Oklahoma City, at the blessed age of 83, surrounded by those who loved her dearly. She was greeted at Heaven’s gates by her daughter Kellie Ann and her beloved siblings Leon Blagg, Don Blagg and Kaye Young, as well as her parents.
