Blooming Redbuds Signal Start Of Spring
These Redbud trees paint a pretty picture in the Chickasaw Nation pocket park on Muskogee Street in Sulphur. The trees have been in bloom for a couple of weeks as spring-like weather came early in southern Oklahoma and just in time for the Artesian Arts Festival April 13 in the downtown area.

Masonic Charity Foundation Grant Helps OSD’s Senior Citizens’ Hearing Aid Program
EDMOND, Okla. – The Masonic Charity Foundation of Oklahoma awarded a generous grant to purchase hearing aids for 180 seniors through the statewide Senior Citizens Hearing Aid Program operated by the Oklahoma School for the Deaf.

McCortney’s Senate Review
This week, we reached the deadline to hear bills in their house of origin. After many hours of debate, questioning, and consideration, we passed a few hundred Senate bills out of our chamber that will now move to the House for further review. We’ll be working through their proposed legislation in Senate committees in the coming weeks.
