A.J. Britt

Graveside services for A. J. Britt, of Elmore City, were held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6, at Dolberg Cemetery, with Doug Hickman officiating. Interment followed under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur.

A.J. was born July 30, 1936 in Oak Grove, OK to Cecil L. and Mattie Fredonia (Castleberry) Britt. He passed away Tuesday, May 3, in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 3 days.

A.J. had lived in this area all of his life and worked at several jobs, including in the oil field and mainly as a hay hauler.

He married Celia Rankin on October 16, 1960. She preceded him in death March 11, 2004. A. J. later married Violet Dale on November 6, 2021 at Elmore City. He attended Oak Grove Church. A. J enjoyed going to the Dog Trade.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Alfred Britt, Lonnie Britt, Edgar Britt, Ruby Odom, and Louise Price.

He is survived by wife, Violet Britt, of Elmore City; daughters, Treasa Stultz and companion, Charlie Sheppard, of Roff, Michelle Morgan and companion, Ricky Stinson, of Ardmore; five grandchildren, A. J., Rick, Dustin, Quinton, and Brooke; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Larry Britt and Jim Britt and wife, Karen, all of Sulphur; sisters, Tiny Wilson, of Roff, Faye Rankin and Jimmy, and Mae Rankin and friend, Edwin Cornelius, all of Sulphur.
