Alfred Lee “Al” Crumb

Alfred Lee “Al” Crumb was born March 31, 1935, in Hickory, to the late Albert Lee “Pappy” and Cora (Bradley) Crumb. He passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, in Ada, at the age of 88 years and 10 days.

Al grew up in Davis, graduating from Davis High School.

After high school, he moved to California where he became a heavy equipment operator, joining the Union of Operating Engineers.

After retiring from the union with 54 years of service, Al continued in the construction business, owning and operating his own dozer service.

In addition to his career in construction, Al was also very involved in professional team pinning, winning countless events throughout the country. As age began to creep up on him, he traded his horse riding for trike riding. He loved riding his trike anywhere and everywhere he could. Whether it was a long trip for enjoyment or simply going out to eat, his time on the trike brought him great peace. In younger years, Al enjoyed running hound dogs chasing bears and mountain lions.

Survivors include his daughter, Julie Crumb of Roff; his son, Bill Bradley Crumb and wife Sherri of Meeker; two granddaughters, Stefane Naillon and husband Mark of Idaho and Michele Ahern and husband Matt of Texas; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Nick,Abriana, Maddux, and Jameson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his loving wife Connie Mae (Davenport) Crumb on January 13, 1983; and his five siblings, Rita England, Calvin Crumb, Carol Williams, Terry Crumb, and Cathy Hayworth.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., on Monday, April 17, 2023, at the Hale’s Memorial Chapel, in Davis, with Pastor Randy Reasoner officiating. A private burial will be held at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis.
