Anita Joan Holder Neal

Services for Anita Joan Holder Neal, of Sulphur, were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday June 6, 2022 at Crossway Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Bill Leveridge, Terry Neal and family members. Interment followed in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Sulphur.

Anita was born January 3,1933, in the Healdton area, to Ray and Ola (Calvery) Holder. She passed away Monday, May 30, 2022 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 27 days.

While living in the Healdton area, Anita moved to Illinois, then back to Oklahoma and to Sulphur during her high school years, where she graduated. Anita worked in banking all her adult life, until her retirement.

She married Gene Neal in Sulphur on June 8, 1951. Gene preceded her in death September 11, 2020.

Anita was a member of Crossway Baptist Church since 1972, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She sang in the choir and was a member of the SASO Choir.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Anita is survived by two sons and their wives, Lanny Neal and Debbie, of Oklahoma City and Terry Neal and Lisa, of Sulphur; seven grandchildren and spouses, Matt Neal, Megan Bowering and Hunter, Marcus Neal and Meagan, McKenzie Neal, Chelsea Neal, Caleb Neal and Brooklyn, Carleigh Tyler and Houston; seven great grandchildren; one brother, Don Holder, of Prescott, AZ; and one sister and husband, Connie Key and Phil, of Sulphur.

Serving as pallbearers were Matt Neal, Marcus Neal, Caleb Neal, Hunter Bowering, Houston Tyler, and Ryan Heim.

Honorary bearers included Brett and Amy Key, Hayden Key, Duncan Key, Sadie Key, Landry Key, Tammy Scrugham, Keyton Haines, Houston Haines, and Faith Haines.
